The 24-Hour AI Decision for Electricians

“I don’t see how AI applies to a business like mine” is the most expensive assumption on your books. Find out in 24 hours whether it’s true — and exactly where AI helps an electrical business, where it doesn’t, and what to do first.

Two hours of work, spread across a day

You write down where your week actually goes — not from memory, from your own records. You read nine straight judgements about electrical contracting specifically. You score your own list against four questions, run the top three past a safety check, and write one page you keep.

Then you sleep on it and confirm it in the morning. That overnight gap is why it is 24 hours and not an afternoon — and it is the same discipline you already apply to every decision worth making.

What you end up with

  • The one job you are going to try it on, named
  • Why that one won — scored against four questions, in writing
  • A second choice, if the first turns out not to work
  • A list of what it never touches in your business, decided once so you are not deciding it again at half six on a Friday
  • One thing you can do this week that costs nothing
  • What you’d need to see before spending money on any tool

Four places where you stop and check your own work

Four times in the book you stop, look at what you have just written, and sign it off — or decide not to. You are allowed to fail your own check, and three of them send you backwards. A scoring system nobody can fail is one that agrees with whoever is holding the pen.

  • Did you measure your week, or remember it?
  • Did you score it honestly, or arrange it?
  • Is anything unsafe getting through because it scored well?
  • Does it still read right in the morning?

The safety check is a stop, not a score. One no and that job is out — and if all three go out, finishing there is a real answer.

Written for electricians, not for “small business”

The capture sheet is pre-populated with the work you actually do. The nine judgements are about estimating, site notes, customer messages, materials, and the paperwork around inspections. The stop list names the things that must stay with you — code-compliance judgement, inspection results and permit submissions — because they carry your name and your registration, and no tool can hold either.

This is probably not for you if you want:

  • A list of AI tools to buy. We name none, and that is deliberate
  • Someone to tell you AI can do your certification or code determination. It cannot, and we say so
  • A promise of time or money saved. We make none

Included

The data centre question — and what the evidence actually supports

You will have seen the headlines. Data centres, AI, a national shortage of electricians, numbers with a lot of zeroes. Some of it is true. A material amount of it is not, and the parts that are not are being repeated by people who sell training.

The bonus section gives you what is verified, who verified it, and what they had to gain. Every figure carries its issuer and its date. It names the two widely-repeated numbers that trace to nobody. It sets out what the work actually pays according to published rate schedules, and which credentials are real rather than what they are sold as.

And it argues against itself, at full strength — including the one structural change that is quietly reducing how many electricians each megawatt needs. It makes no prediction about your outcome.

The current edition of NFPA 70E is the 2027 edition, revising 2024 — and a great deal of material online still calls 2021 current. The bonus section opens on it, because it matters more this week than anything to do with data centers.

Questions

Before you buy

Is this a course?

No. No videos, no modules, nothing to log into. It is a workbook you fill in. Roughly half of it is blank instruments.

Do I need to be technical?

No. You need no AI team, no new platform, and no purchase. Most people doing this already have everything they need.

Does it tell me which tool to use?

No, and deliberately. Named tools go out of date, and nobody can tell you a tool is safe for your business except you. We give you questions that work on any tool, and we keep a current note on what to look for.

Will it promise me savings?

No. It helps you reach a decision. What happens after that depends on your business.

What if the answer is “not yet”?

That is a real outcome and the workbook has a route for it. The safety check can end it. Knowing in writing that your core work needs you is worth more than a forced yes.

Is this the right edition for me?

This is the US Edition. The decision method is identical across editions; the compliance layer, the pay data, the credentials and the employment routes are not. Buy the one you work in. If you buy the wrong one, tell us and we will send the correct edition at no charge — that is a swap, not a refund, and it does not use up your 14 days.

Can I print it and reuse it?

Yes. One purchase covers reuse inside your own business, as many copies as your work needs.

This workbook is an operational starting point. It is not legal, regulatory, electrical, code, licensing, or compliance guidance, and it changes none of your obligations under the NEC, NFPA 70E and your licensing board. It promises no savings, revenue, time recovered, or return on investment, and makes no prediction about any employment outcome. The worked example is invented for teaching and labelled as such. No third-party vendor is named or endorsed.
